Mike Tyson set for comeback 15/06/2004 16:36 - (SA) Washington - Former world boxing heavyweight champion Mike Tyson is set to make his comeback after a year out of the ring against US-based Kevin McBride of Ireland on July 30. Tyson's agent Shelly Finkel told USA Today the fight would probably be held in Louisville, Kentucky. "Mike just wants to get in the ring. He's serious and he's in great shape," said Finkel. Tyson has fought less than a minute in the last two years. He took 49 seconds to knock out Clifford Etienne in February last year in his first fight since being thrashed by Britain's Lennox Lewis in June 2002. Tyson, who turns 38 on June 30, has been training under Freddie Roach. "Freddie thinks he's in better shape now than when he went in the ring for the Etienne fight," added Finkel. Finkel was trying to put in place a fight with Antonio Tarver, who reclaimed the World Boxing Council light heavyweight title, avenging an earlier loss with a stunning technical knockout of fellow American Roy Jones in May. McBride, 31, has 31 wins but none of them against a top-notch fighter while two of his four defeats came against men with at least some credentials - American DaVarryl Williamson and Germany's Axel Schultz. www.news24.com/News24/Sport/More_Sport/0,,2-9-32_1543066,00.html
